Hampton Cove in Owens Cross Roads, just outside Huntsville, is a 54-hole public facility on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail with three courses: Highlands, River and a Short Course. The Highlands is the championship course, a par 72 over rolling terrain with bent grass greens and long grasses, playing 7,428 yards from the back tees (76.2 rating, 143 slope). The River course was built on former soybean fields in the Flint River flood plain, with water in play on 16 holes and no bunkers. The Short Course is open and links-like, with water in play on 11 holes.

Policies
Tee times can be booked online through the Trail's site. Maintenance is weather dependent and schedules can change at the last minute, so contact the golf shop about aerification and overseeding dates; carts are limited to the rough during overseeding recovery periods. Outings, banquets and other events are arranged through the online event form.
