Plan your round at SentryWorld
SentryWorld is a public parkland course in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1982 and redesigned by Jones, Bruce Charlton and Jay Blasi in 2014. It is best known for the 16th, the Flower Hole, planted with more than 50,000 flowers each year, and hosted the 2023 U.S. Senior Open. The main course plays to par 72 and 7,320 yards from the Championship tees (rating 76.6, slope 151); it is separate from the resort's par-3 course.

SentryWorld hole by hole
Par 3Par 4Par 5
Hole 1
385
yds ·White
The center fairway bunker is the target off the tee. Long hitters can carry the left bunker for a shorter approach, but anything left of it leaves a hard second shot.
Hole 2
441
yds ·White
A run of straight shots with trees left and water right, ending at a green on a gentle rise with woods around it. The different tee boxes change the first shot, and length and precision are both rewarded.
Hole 3
130
yds ·White
A short par 3 with a bunker short, water long and a steep fallout right. Shots on the right edge can roll 5 to 10 yards off the green, so aim for the middle.
Hole 4
299
yds ·White
A short par 4 with one of the narrowest fairways on the course, so accuracy off the tee matters most. Long hitters can reach the water in front of the green with a driver. The green is one of the shallowest, which makes it hard to hold from the rough.
Hole 5
425
yds ·White
A cape hole around water, with the green visible across the water to the left of an island. The farther left you aim off the tee, the shorter the second shot. A good drive can reach in two; if you lay up, get past the large tree guarding the green.
Hole 6
376
yds ·White
The hardest hole at the 2023 U.S. Senior Open. Two fairway bunkers guard the drive and the approach goes to an elevated green. Aim for the right side, where the ball tends to feed right to left.
Hole 7
168
yds ·White
The longest par 3 on the course, with a large green. The right bunker collects misses, so aim left of the flag. A shot over the left front bunker has room to land and feed right toward the green.
Hole 8
326
yds ·White
A shorter par 4 that rewards accuracy over distance. A tee shot just short or right of the left fairway bunker leaves a short iron into a guarded, elevated green. Shots that land on the right edge can roll 10 or more yards away.
Hole 9
424
yds ·White
Short for a par 5 but full of traps. Tee shots in the left fairway over the creek can consider going for the green in two; if laying up, the left fairway bunker is a good aiming point. The green is very shallow front to back.
Hole 10
524
yds ·White
A long par 5 best played up the left side, where even the rough is acceptable and the right side is trouble. A second shot near the left fairway bunker leaves a short iron to a two-tiered green ringed by bunkers.
Hole 11
259
yds ·White
A short risk-reward par 4. Big hitters can reach the green area from the tee, but anything left of the green leaves a very hard up-and-down. The green has a plateau from front left to back right with lower bowls front right and back left.
Hole 12
139
yds ·White
A peninsula-green par 3 that tends to play longer than it looks. The front of the green slopes back toward the water and water wraps behind it too, so take enough club and control distance.
Hole 13
335
yds ·White
From the back tees there is a carry of 200 yards or more to reach the fairway, and the hole plays into the prevailing wind. Left of the center bunker brings water into play, so right of it is the better line. A subtle mound in the green affects almost every putt.
Hole 14
484
yds ·White
The last par 5 usually plays as a three-shotter. Hit up the left side to avoid water just right of the fairway, then lay up around the right fairway bunker for a short, uphill approach to an undulating green.
Hole 15
383
yds ·White
Not intimidating from the tee but the toughest hole at the 2019 U.S. Girls' Junior. Left is better than right off the tee. The perched green has a large fallout on the left that pulls shots down into a difficult pitch.
Hole 16
143
yds ·White
The signature Flower Hole, planted with more than 50,000 flowers each year, which Robert Trent Jones Jr. calls his Mona Lisa. A shot to the middle of the green leaves a good birdie look at any pin position.
Hole 17
321
yds ·White
One more risk-reward par 4. A safe tee shot to the corner of the dogleg leaves a simple approach, while cutting the corner can leave a short pitch. The approach plays downhill to a green that slopes front to back.
Hole 18
399
yds ·White
An uphill finisher with the largest elevation change on the course. Avoid the fairway bunkers off the tee, then watch for a false front and a left-side fallout at a green guarded by three bunkers.
