Van Cortlandt Golf Course is a city-run 18-hole public course in Van Cortlandt Park in the north Bronx, billed as the oldest public golf course in the United States and established in 1895. A renovation led by architect Stephen Kay added seven new greens, new tee boxes, more cart paths, better bunkers and improved drainage. It plays to par 70 and 6,002 yards from the black tees, with a tree-lined, compact layout and a 1 train stop a short walk away.

- Bring photo ID if you are using a senior rate
- Wear proper golf attire
- Leave outside food and coolers at home
- Cancel at least 12 hours ahead to avoid a charge

Check in at the pro shop at least 30 minutes before your tee time; arriving late may cost you the time, so call if you are running behind. The No. 1 subway line is a short walk from the course.

Proper golf attire is expected.

There is a snack bar. Outside food, beverages and coolers are not allowed.
Policies
Tee times can be changed or cancelled online or by calling the pro shop (email is not accepted). Changes or no-shows within 12 hours of play are charged the full green fee and reservation fee unless the course is closed. In rain, check with the course; if it is closed, do not play. Senior rates apply Monday to Friday for players 62 and older with photo ID, and junior rates for players 17 and under Monday to Friday.
