Battle Ground Golf Club opened July 4, 1967, on about 160 acres next to Prophetstown State Park, and was home to the Lafayette Country Club for nearly 50 years. Robert Simmons designed the original course and Tim Liddy later led a renovation. It is now a public course with four sets of tees ranging from about 5,100 to almost 7,100 yards.
