It is part of the Santa Claran Hotel & Casino and plays through rolling fairways, arroyos, sandstone ridges and native areas with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. - The course sits at altitude; the ball travels farther than at sea level

Black Mesa Grill offers full-service dining and a bar, open to the public seasonally Thursday to Monday. A roaming beverage cart sells cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches on the course and takes credit cards only. Outside alcohol is not permitted.
Policies
The course is open Thursday to Monday, with hours that change by season (winter 9am to 5pm, spring and fall 8am to 6pm, summer 7am to 7pm). It is closed Christmas Day, weather permitting. Tournaments and outings of any size can be arranged through the events page.
