Dress code

Denim is not allowed, and neither are cut-off shorts. Men wear collared shirts or mock turtlenecks, and women should avoid t-shirts, swimsuits and halter tops. Juniors 12 and older follow the men's code. Golf shoes must have plastic spikes, since metal and athletic spikes are not allowed.

Carts & walking

Carts must stay on the paths around greens and tees. In dry conditions the Carts Scatter rule lets carts leave the tee area and spread out, then return to the path at the signs about 30 yards from each green. In wet conditions carts stay on the path only. Cart drivers must hold a valid license and be at least 16.

Practice facilities

The club has enhanced public practice facilities, and a newer practice area was built for Furman's teams.

Rentals & pro shop

The golf shop rents sets for right-handed, left-handed and women golfers. Every player needs their own clubs or a rental set.

Food & drink

Traditions Grille is the clubhouse restaurant. Outside food and beverages are not allowed during normal play, and coolers are prohibited.

Pace of play

The Carolinas Golf Association rated the course's pace at 4 hours 15 minutes, and marshals enforce it every day. Slow groups get a verbal warning with a target nine-hole time, then a second warning, and may be asked to skip a hole or leave with a prorated refund.

Policies

Rain checks are given only if it rains or the course closes after play has started, and cover the greens and cart fees for holes not played. Fivesomes are not allowed unless a PGA Professional approves them. Out of bounds is the fence on holes 1 and 2 and the white stakes on 18 and around the clubhouse, and the lake on 4 is a penalty area.
