Tullymore Golf Club
Plan your round at Tullymore Golf Club
Tullymore is a Jim Engh design that opened in 2002 on more than 800 acres of woods, meadows and wetlands near Stanwood, Michigan. It is the resort's tougher course (St. Ives is the other) and plays to par 72 from 7,250 yards on the Silver tees, with five par 3s and five par 5s. The Black tees measure 6,547 yards (71.2 rating, 142 slope). Golf Digest named it the top new upscale public course in America shortly after it opened.

Tullymore Golf Club hole by hole
Par 3Par 4Par 5
Hole 1
495
yds ·Blue
A par 5 that most golfers play as a three-shotter. Aim at the white birch off the tee and favor the left side for the approach.
Hole 2
397
yds ·Blue
A tough par 4 with a bunker guarding the right side of the fairway. The green is narrow, so the approach needs to be precise.
Hole 3
284
yds ·Blue
A short par 4 that still needs a long drive to clear the oaks on the right. Stay left, and note the hill behind the shallow green.
Hole 4
160
yds ·Blue
The first of five par 3s. Wind usually helps, so take an extra club when the pin is back right.
Hole 5
174
yds ·Blue
A second straight par 3, playing slightly downhill. Back pin positions are difficult.
Hole 6
331
yds ·Blue
A dogleg-right par 4 with a pot bunker and several possible tee-shot lines. Aim the approach at the front left, where the ball feeds right.
Hole 7
148
yds ·Blue
A par 3 where the challenge is reaching the right plateau of the green, with wind a factor.
Hole 8
530
yds ·Blue
The first long par 5 has a generous landing area. Long hitters can carry a marsh past pines to reach the green on the right; others should play left, away from the pines.
Hole 9
312
yds ·Blue
A short dogleg-left par 4 with a blind approach, where driver is recommended. A fairway and greenside bunker called Patrick's Purgatory sits on the left.
Hole 10
404
yds ·Blue
A dogleg-left par 4 that calls for a fade off the tee. Enter the green from the right, where a run-up area feeds the ball onto the putting surface.
Hole 11
360
yds ·Blue
Avoid the left greenside bunker; aim straight at it from the tee. The green is cut into a hillside.
Hole 12
157
yds ·Blue
A par 3 whose green is partly hidden by a hillside, in the style of The Dell at Lahinch. The green is wide and the hill behind makes long shots forgiving.
Hole 13
544
yds ·Blue
The second long par 5, reached in two only by the longest hitters. A large bunker guards the front of the green, so play the second shot left-center.
Hole 14
399
yds ·Blue
There are three tee-shot options: right of the fairway bunker using the slope, over the bunker, or left of the oak for long hitters. Miss right, since the slope kicks balls back, and a pond guards the left of the green.
Hole 15
140
yds ·Blue
A par 3 where club choice depends on wind and pin position. The green is wide and deep.
Hole 16
553
yds ·Blue
A par 5 that plays as a three-shot hole. The tee area is wide but a hazard lies down the left, and the fairway for the second shot is wide.
Hole 17
344
yds ·Blue
A short par 4 set up by a good drive. Hazards on the right can be carried or avoided by playing straight away.
Hole 18
478
yds ·Blue
A finishing par 5 that can be reached in two with a solid drive. Carries over the bunkers and water vary by tee, and a run-up area on the right feeds the ball left.
