El Cardonal is Tiger Woods' first golf course design, opened in 2014 at Diamante, a private 1,500-acre oceanfront club on the Pacific side of Cabo San Lucas. Inspired by the classic Southern California courses Woods grew up on, it puts strategy over strength: wide fairways with several angles into each green, natural sand arroyos and native dunes, and high-faced, old-style bunkers, with long views of the Pacific. It plays to par 72 and 7,363 yards from the back tees (75.9 / 140), and it hosts the PGA Tour's World Wide Technology Championship.

Everything to know on arrival
Know before you go
- Confirm with the club that you're allowed to play before you travel
- Bring your tee-time confirmation to the Diamante gate
- Collared shirt, no denim
- Consider a caddie on your first round
- Sunscreen, a hat and plenty of water; the course is open and exposed
Arrival & check-in
Diamante is a private, gated community about six miles from downtown Cabo San Lucas. Play is arranged through the club in advance, so bring your confirmation to the gate. The El Cardonal clubhouse has the pro shop and bag drop.
Dress code
Collared shirts are required and denim isn't allowed.
Carts & walking
Rounds are normally played in a cart, and caddies are available (recommended your first time around). Ask the club about walking when you book.
Practice facilities
There's a full driving range with a putting green and short-game area, and the Diamante Golf Academy offers private and group lessons. Diamante also has The Oasis, a 12-hole par-3 short course by Tiger Woods, and a 15-hole putting course.
Food & drink
Complimentary food and drinks are part of the round: snacks on the range and on-course comfort stations serving things like handmade tamales and fresh margaritas. The clubhouse has a bar.
Policies
Diamante is a private club. Outside play is limited, and reports say non-members generally need to be staying on property (for example, renting a privately owned residence) to book. Confirm the current access rules with the club before you plan a trip.
