Privacy Policy

maps.golf, LLC is a Florida limited liability company that builds embeddable, interactive 3D maps for golf courses. This policy covers maps.golf (the marketing site and account dashboard) and the embedded map widget (“the embed”) that golf courses place on their own websites.

This policy does not cover the websites of the golf courses, clubs, or tournaments that embed our widget — their own privacy practices govern the rest of their site.

Information you give us directly

• Contact form: name, email address, your course or facility (if provided), and your message, when you contact us or request a demo.
• Account information: your email address and authentication details when you create a dashboard account, handled for us by our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Billing information: when you subscribe to a plan, payment details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number.
• Branding and course content: logos, brand colors, and course details a client uploads to their dashboard to customize their embedded map.

Information collected automatically

• Standard hosting logs: our hosting provider, Vercel, automatically logs standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) for security and reliability purposes.
• Site analytics: on maps.golf itself (not on embedded maps), we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our marketing site and dashboard.
• Embed usage data: when an embedded map loads on a course's website, we record a basic load event (which course, when, and which map technology was used) so we can measure usage against a client's plan. This event does not include your name, IP address, or any other data that identifies you.
• Per-course analytics: a golf course may choose to connect its own Google Analytics property to its embedded map. If it does, that data is collected directly into that course's own analytics account under Google's terms — we don't control or have access to it.

We and our service providers use a small number of cookies:

• Necessary: session cookies set by Clerk to keep you signed in to the dashboard.
• Analytics: cookies set by Google Analytics on maps.golf's own pages (never on the embedded map itself).
• Security: Google reCAPTCHA sets a cookie on our contact page to help distinguish real visitors from automated spam.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may prevent parts of the dashboard or contact form from working correctly.

• Operate, maintain, and improve maps.golf and the embed
• Create and manage accounts, and process subscriptions and payments
• Respond to inquiries, demo requests, and support questions
• Measure embed usage against a client's plan and load allowance
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
• Comply with legal obligations

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run maps.golf, each acting on our behalf:

• Clerk — authentication and account management
• Stripe — payment processing and billing
• Neon (Postgres) and Vercel — application hosting and database storage
• Resend — sending transactional and contact-form emails
• Google (Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Maps Platform) — site analytics, spam prevention, and map imagery
• Mapbox — map imagery and terrain data

We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we'll make reasonable efforts to notify affected users.

We keep account and billing information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. Contact form submissions are kept only as long as needed to respond to and resolve the inquiry.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain uses of it. To make a request, email us at eric@maps.golf and we'll respond within a reasonable time.

You can opt out of Google Analytics generally using Google's browser add-on.

maps.golf is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

We operate in the United States, and information we collect may be stored and processed in the United States or by service providers located elsewhere. By using maps.golf, you understand your information may be transferred outside your home country.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we handle, including relying on established providers (Clerk, Stripe, Neon, Vercel) for the most sensitive parts of the stack. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate, provide additional notice.
