Orange County National - Panther Lake hole by hole
Par 3Par 4Par 5
Hole 1
"The Wild": the tee shot should favor the left side of the fairway to avoid bunkers on the right, and the approach to the two-tiered green, which slopes back to front, should stay clear of bunkers on the right.
Hole 2
"The Pecan": the tee shot should favor the right side of the fairway, and an extra club may be needed to carry the bunkers in front of the green.
Hole 3
"Nags": the tee shot should be down the middle to avoid trouble on both sides; the green slopes severely from left to right.
Hole 4
"The Tanglewood": reachable for long, straight drivers; the approach should favor the left side of the green, which slopes from left to right.
Hole 5
"The Tidewater": a long iron off the tee is the key, and the bowl-shaped green is fronted by a bunker.
Hole 6
"The Princeville": a par 3 where an extra club may be needed to avoid the bunkers in front of the green, which slopes slightly from back to front.
Hole 7
"The Tarken": the drive should favor the left side of the fairway, and an extra club may be needed for the approach to this uphill green.
Hole 8
"The Pit": a par 3 with a tiered green, bunkers behind and to the right, and a difficult up and down from a miss left.
Hole 9
"The Bend": a severe dogleg left where an iron off the tee avoids water and bunkers left and bunkers right; the approach plays shorter than it looks to a green sloping severely right to left with bunkers left and behind.
Hole 10
"The Sunrise": a tee shot down the middle avoids bunkers right and left, and the approach to the elevated green, which slopes back to front, may need an extra club.
Hole 11
"The East Way": the tee shot should favor the right side of the fairway; the approach is shorter than it looks and the green slopes severely from back to front.
Hole 12
"The Sweep": a difficult tee shot and approach, both favoring the left side to avoid water on the right, to a two-tiered green.
Hole 13
"Land O' Lake": all carry over water and bunkers to a three-tiered green; an additional club may be needed to clear the bunker surrounding the entire front.
Hole 14
"Pine Lake": the tee shot should favor the right side away from bunkers on the left, and the second shot should stay left of the chain bunkers on the right; long hitters can reach in two.
Hole 15
"Lily Pond": a par 3 carrying water and bunkers; shorter hitters may play to the right of the green, and an extra club may be needed.
Hole 16
"Naddle Hill": the tee shot should favor the right side of the fairway, and the approach should be kept right on the two-tiered green to avoid the deep bunker on the left.
Hole 17
"The Windy Ridge": a short par 5 reachable in two by long hitters; otherwise keep the ball and the approach on the left side to avoid the deep bunkers right.
Hole 18
"The Grey Mule": plays up to the clubhouse and has the widest fairway on the course; the approach should be to the left side of the three-tiered green, which slopes back to front, to avoid bunkers on the right.
