Plan your round at Birdsfoot

Wide landing area off the tee, with a fairway bunker on the left that sets up the best angle. The green is uphill, so take enough club.

Sharp dogleg-right par 5 with a pond on the inside of the bend. Play toward the fairway bunkers off the tee, then lay up carefully using the cross bunker short right of the green as a guide.

Nicknamed Hombre, one of the longest par 4s on the course and without bunkers. Aim down the right side and let the terrain feed the ball right to left toward a large, subtle green.

The shortest par 3, with a pond left and two bunkers right. A miss short right leaves a tough up-and-down.

Long par 5 where a good drive can catch a speed slot for 20 to 30 extra yards. The hole then climbs to a three-tiered green.

Short par 4 with bunkers and grass depressions on both sides. Play it conservatively, or go for the green if you can shape the ball left to right.

Slight dogleg left, so favor the right side off the tee. The wide, uphill green has a terrace through the middle and the left greenside bunker is shallower than it looks.

A long terrace divides the fairway, and errant drives to the right often roll back toward the fairway.

Finishing par 3 for the front nine with one of the largest greens on the course, but you must carry a large, deep ravine.

A fairway bunker on the left helps set the angle. The long, narrow green slopes left to right and sits higher, which can change your club by one or two.

Slightly uphill par 3 with a bunker around the entire green and a narrow opening in front. A miss leaves a sand save.

Strong dogleg right with a dramatic downhill tee shot from the highest point on the course. Aim down the left side of the wide fairway; a slope across the green feeds balls toward a back-right pin.

The first tree-lined hole, a par 5 that demands accuracy. Avoid the bunker right of the green and try to leave an uphill putt.

Drive slightly left to right into a landing area framed by bunkers. The green is bunkered on both sides with a bowl at middle right, so distance control matters.

Doesn't call for power. Keep the tee shot in the fairway and leave your preferred yardage into the green.

The best eagle chance among the par 5s. The right side is the shortest route in two but a hillside hides the green; play right of the cross bunkers and aim at the green.

Final par 3, with grass depressions in the slopes around a long, shallow green angled left to right. Club selection is critical.

Split fairway divided by an undulating ridge. The right side is safer but leaves a longer, blind second shot; the left needs a longer carry but gives a shorter approach with a better angle.
