A shuttle runs between the clubhouse, golf shop, lodging and the first tees, and you can request one online. If you booked a caddie, plan to be at the first tee 15 to 20 minutes before your tee time.

All courses at Sand Valley are walking only. Caddies are strongly encouraged; most carry two bags, so single-bag and junior caddie requests can't be guaranteed, and fore caddies are offered for groups of 2 to 4. Push or pull carts can be rented, or bring your own, though motorized pull carts struggle in the sand. Riding carts are available only for guests with a medical need, arranged in advance (cartrequest@sandvalley.com).
Practice facilities
The Sand Valley Golf Range is open from sunrise until an hour before dusk and closes at 5 p.m. on Thursdays. Warm-up areas are first come, first served. Putting greens sit next to the first tees at Sand Valley and Mammoth Dunes, and shuttles run to the other courses. The resort also offers instruction.

Rounds starting before 8 a.m. are speed slots expected to finish in under 4 hours. Later rounds should take 4 hours 15 minutes or less.
Policies
Mammoth Dunes is open to the public through the resort's tee-time booking, and stay-and-play guests are welcome. Golf-only bookings must be changed or cancelled at least 30 days before arrival or the deposit is forfeited. Golf and lodging packages have seasonal notice windows (in 2026, 7 days in late April and mid-October, 45 days from May 1 to October 4). If weather keeps you from playing, tell the golf shop while on property to get a voucher for future golf; once you tee off you are not eligible. The courses close for the winter.
