Blackwolf Run – Meadow Valleys
Plan your round at Blackwolf Run – Meadow Valleys
Meadow Valleys is the second Pete Dye course at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin, with rolling prairie, oak savannah, heathland and ravines, and the Sheboygan River in play on the closing stretch. Blackwolf Run opened in 1988 and became 36 holes by 1990, and the back nine of Meadow Valleys was part of the composite course used for the U.S. Women's Open in 1998 and 2012. It plays to par 72 and 7,314 yards from the Black tees on the hole-by-hole card (rated 75.1 / 145).

Blackwolf Run – Meadow Valleys hole by hole
Par 3Par 4Par 5
Hole 1
349
yds ·Green
An intimidating opener with water on the right and tall fescue left. A conservative tee ball is a sound choice.
Hole 2
385
yds ·Green
Easier off the tee, with bunkers left and an elevated green. Favor the right side to have a chance of reaching in two.
Hole 3
158
yds ·Green
A mid-length par 3 that plays harder than it looks, with bunkers left and a deep waste area right. Aim left, away from the sand.
Hole 4
516
yds ·Green
A par 5 with a split fairway around a large bunker that bends out and right. Pick a side off the tee and lay up carefully to a recessed green ringed with mounds.
Hole 5
362
yds ·Green
A dogleg right with bunkers on the right and the ideal line, and a narrow approach between large oaks to a green that slopes right to left. Tee off left of the oaks.
Hole 6
444
yds ·Green
A long par 4 and the number 1 handicap. The left side off the tee is the more comfortable play and leaves a shorter approach with less sand.
Hole 7
488
yds ·Green
A par 5 that plays toward a large flagpole, with a fairway bunker cutting in from the right. Clear it off the tee and keep the second shot dry.
Hole 8
176
yds ·Green
A long par 3 into the wind with water left and a forced carry of 225 yards or more from the back tee. Choose your tee carefully.
Hole 9
432
yds ·Green
A downhill par 4 with water along the right and a very sloped green on a peninsula with a steep drop behind. The tee shot must thread a treeline and a recessed bunker.
Hole 10
330
yds ·Green
A narrow, forested tee chute that calls for a straight drive, then a green that falls off on the left.
Hole 11
495
yds ·Green
A medium-length par 5 that is relatively friendly. Avoid the large bunker on the left side of the driving area.
Hole 12
407
yds ·Green
A downhill, open driving hole with trouble both sides. Aim the approach at the middle or right, since the green falls away to the left.
Hole 13
313
yds ·Green
The driver must carry the left bunkers or draw down the fairway, then a wedge to a raised, volcano-like green that is hard to hold.
Hole 14
384
yds ·Green
Called Nature's Course. A tree-lined hole that bends and drops toward a green wrapped by the Sheboygan River and a creek. Hit the fairway, then a downhill mid-iron to a well guarded green.
Hole 15
189
yds ·Green
A long par 3 of 230 yards or more from the back tee, often into strong wind. One of the hardest one-shotters on the property.
Hole 16
487
yds ·Green
The longest par 5, called Rolling Thunder. The tee shot must clear a hill, and the largest bunker on the course sits right of the second-shot landing area.
Hole 17
152
yds ·Green
A short par 3 called Maple Syrup, with large maples fronting the green. A high shot is needed to clear the trees.
Hole 18
383
yds ·Green
The tee sits beside the Sheboygan River and the second shot carries it to a double green shared with the River course. A longer drive shortens the carry.
