The Yale Golf Course is a Charles Blair Macdonald and Seth Raynor design that opened in 1926 on a 700-acre tract of rock ledges, ponds and hills owned by Yale University. Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner restored it ahead of the 2026 centennial, adding length, rebuilding greens and bunkers, and reopening it to the public. It is known for template holes such as the Biarritz, Redan and Eden, the Double Punch Bowl green, and double fairways. It plays to par 70 and about 7,050 yards from the championship tees (rating 74.7, slope 144).

Know before you go
- Book online through the Whoosh tee-time page; outside golfers reportedly book 10 days ahead, Yale affiliates 14.
- The course reopened in April 2026 after a two-year restoration, so older yardages and reviews may be out of date.
- Tees are Championship, Long, Regular and Short; most golfers will play Long or Regular.
- Expect blind shots, steep elevation changes and large, contoured greens.
- Check the daily rates page for the fee that applies to you (Yale student/faculty, affiliate or public).
Policies
Since the 2026 reopening the course takes daily-fee play from the general public as well as the Yale community, with different rates for Yale students and faculty, university affiliates, and outside golfers. Tee times are booked online, reportedly every 15 minutes Tuesday through Sunday, with Yale-affiliated golfers able to book 14 days ahead and everyone else 10 days ahead.
